Kandi cuff calculator
Estimate bead counts from wrist size, bead width and chart rows. Check woven fit with a test strip; cord length depends on your stitch.
Your cuff
Ease adds positions to the estimate. Check the fit using your own beads and chosen stitch.

How the numbers are worked out
Beads per row is the wrist circumference divided by the bead width, rounded, plus your ease. A 6.5 in wrist is 165 mm; divided by 9 mm that is 18.3, so 18 beads, and with one bead of ease you string 19.
Total beads is estimated positions per row × rows. A 19 × 9 filled grid has 171 positions. The bag estimate combines all colours; use the chart’s colour counts to decide how many bags of each colour to buy.
This calculator does not estimate cord length for a woven cuff. Row count, stitch path and finishing method all affect cord use. Follow the chosen stitch tutorial for preparation and finishing.
Example estimates before testing your stitch
| Cuff | Beads per row | Rows | Total beads |
|---|---|---|---|
| Skinny bracelet | 18 | 5 | 90 |
| Standard cuff | 20 | 9 | 180 |
| Wide cuff | 22 | 13 | 286 |
| Arm band | 26 | 9 | 234 |
Matching the pattern grid to the cuff
A 19-column colour chart holds two 9-column repeats plus one background column in total. This is chart arithmetic, not a finished cuff measurement. Use a test strip to choose repeats for your stitch. In the kandi pattern maker, choose the chart width and rows for your motif. See kandi cuff patterns for existing bands.
Need help reading the chart once it is printed? The kandi guide covers the grid conventions and the best order to work rows.
